Understanding Circular Economy
Why Circular Economy is the Solution for the Future
The global system is currently based on a linear economy where we take, make and waste. However, to deal with the environmental and socio-economic challenges that we are being faced with, we slowly will have to move towards a new economic model referred to as the circular economy where the waste is reintegrated into the system. Circular economy is a new paradigm based on finding ways to replicate nature’s natural cyclical processes that is regenerative and sustainable by design and intent.
In partnership with the Circular Economy Platform of the Americas (CEPA), the Americas Sustainable Development Foundation (ASDF) is organizing together with McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry (MBDC) and the University of Aruba (UoA), a seminar on Circular Economy and Circular Business solutions.

This seminar is tailored to persons in mid- and senior level positions in public and private companies across services, trade, construction, and industry sectors; sustainability and corporate social responsibility professionals; and individuals from the NGO sector and academia that want to deepen their knowledge and awareness of new circular business trends and models.

Participants will benefit from learning about what Circular Economy is, how to integrate this new economic model in their business, gather insights of the international trends of the Circular Economy development and applications, what Cradle to Cradle® design principles for the Circular Economy is, and how this empowers circular business development, and finally how to start contextualizing these to the local and regional business reality.
